ABOUT US
The Publishers' Advertising Advisory Bureau (PAAB) is uniquely placed to provide advice on the content of advertisements to its members.
We pride ourselves on our extensive knowledge of the estimated 160 pieces of Commonwealth, State and Territory legislations, which include requirements on advertising, the various professional and industry Codes of Practice/Ethics, along with publishers' legal obligations under the fair trading legislation.
We believe that with all advertisements, the more pertinent information included in the advertisement, the more likely it is that readers' expectations will be met, and the less likely it is that the advertisement will be subject to any complaint.
It is hardly surprising therefore, that our members increasingly refer all manner of advertisements to us for advice, particularly those involving consumer protection issues which impose legal obligations on the publishers themselves.
The PAAB maintains a cordial and professional relationship with a number of Government and Regulatory Bodies.
We deliver submissions representing the interests of the industry where advertising restrictions or prohibitions are being considered by governments or their agencies.
The PAAB, uniquely amongst media, is a full member of the Therapeutic Goods Advertising Code Council which ensures that the Therapeutic Goods Advertising Code is current, relevant and reflects community values and standards.
